Liam Gallagher Of Oasis Was LIVE in Manila!
I have always been a fan of alternative and rock music. I remember back in grade school when I had cassette tape collection of my favorite bands, listen to it using my walkman and I can go on for hours just singing along with them. When I learned that Liam Gallagher is set to perform in the Philippine, I knew this is something I needed to witness.
One of the best lead singers of all times is Liam Gallagher. He is the front man of the 5-piece alternative band Oasis, who then decided have his own career in 2009. Back in the 90's, Oasis dominated the rock music scene and were best known for hit singles including Champagne Supernova, Wonder Wall, Don't Look Back In Anger, Sally Can Wait, and Live Forever. The British band bagged several awards including best selling singles and albums. In 2002, Oasis announced their Philippine tour but was later canceled due to a terrorist threat. The band sadly disbanded without setting foot in the Philippine soil.
Last night, August 14 was epic as Gallagher performed for the first time in the country at the Mall of Asia Arena. The fans were a mixture of young and old but everyone appreciated Liam's music. His live performance lasted for more than an hour where he played classic songs from his former band, Oasis and some new tracks that are included on his debut album. The night ended by playing Wonderwall which made the crowd feel nostalgic. The event was presented by Ovation production.
Gallagher's first solo album entitled "As You Were" is expected to be release this year and will be under Warner Music Bros.

This has been a wonderful night filled with music I grew up with. It reminds me of my bittersweet memories and sometimes weird and awkward stages of my adolescent years. Seeing one of my idols performed live is just surreal. And yes, I'm dying to have his album!
