My Favorite Makeup Artists
During my free time, I love to browse the net and look for the works of some of the best makeup artists in the Philippines. I am amazed on their works and I wonder where they get that creativity to create a masterpiece using their makeup brushes and color palettes. Aside from Michelle Phan, there are also local makeup artists that serves as my inspiration. Here are some of the makeup gurus that I admire and hopefully can meet in person soon!
Jocelle Briones
I saw her works through Yeng Constantino. I am an avid fan of Yeng and I always check her IG account and from there I learned that Jocelle was once her makeup artist. I love how she emphasize the rockstar image of Yeng with a girly twist.
Au Mauricio
Au is a well known celebrity makeup artist. Her works can be seen in magazines, print ads and she also do bridal makeup. I was lucky to be selected by Glamourbox and Avon to attend a free makeup class with Ms Au. She is very down to earth and I really learned a lot from her. It was a 4 hour workshop but I learned a lot of techniques from her. Below is my picture with her after the makeup workshop.
Jigs Mayuga
Who doesn't know Jigs Mayuga? All makeup enthusiast looked up to him and admire him for his creativity. He is a well known makeup artists that can transform you to be at your best. He's been doing the makeup of famous celebrities and his works can be found in magazines and advertisements. He is also a makeup artists at MAC.
Say Artillero
Say has always been an inspiration to me as a writer. She also has her beauty blog that I follow to learn more about makeup techniques. I love how she writes honest reviews about makeups, especially local brands. From her blog, you will learn everything about makeup from choosing the foundation that suits you, to applying eye shadows, to choosing your blush, finding the perfect red lipstick and doing a winged eyeliner. I also enjoy watching her video tutorials in Youtube. She is truly an inspiration!
