A Day Of Relaxation At Akesis Holistic Health

Never did I thought that holistic spa is a lot better until I tried my first treatment last October 1 from Akesis. They have friendly staff and was immediately served with hot tea. Before my treatment, I got the chance to interview the owner Ms. Jessica Lau. I learned from Ms. Lau that Akesis started 2 years ago. The name was derived from Akeso, the Greek goddess of healing wounds and curing illness. Ms. Lau thought that Akesis would sound better, hence decided to have this name for her therapeutic spa. Akesis came to existence primarily because they wanted to promote holistic care. Their services includes acupuncture wherein many oncology patients are availing the service. It can also help teenagers to  increase their height. They also offer Past Life Regression where you can find answers that you have from your past. It is different with hypnosis because with past life regression, you are awake and you are really in touch with reality. You can even hear the surroundings. It's more of question and answer that will later reveal answers from your past.

That afternoon, I really wanted to try acupuncture since I haven't done this before. But the doctor who performs acupuncture is abroad. I opted for their hilot instead. At first, my therapist balanced my energy. She was just holding my feet, then my head as she balanced my energy. We then proceed to my desired service which is hilot. The oil that was used was coconut oil which also has essential oil although the dominant fragrance is that of the coconut oil. It was really a soothing massage. One thing I liked about this hilot service is that they message what we call "lamig" from end to end unlike in traditional massage where the therapist will just concentrate on the affected area which most often than not lead to a more painful back or shoulders before feeling relieved. Background music is relaxing, which are all instrumental. You can enjoy this hilot service for only Php350. The treatment area is conducive to relaxation and is neat and smells good. There are 4 treatment rooms and 1 consultation room.

Overall experienced with Akesis is very good. Starting from the friendly staff, cozy ambiance and well trained therapists. It was an afternoon of relaxation and pampering. The only thing that I think needs improvement would be the oil that they used. I prefer it to have other scent aside from coconut which is really strong. It smells like old school and adding other scent can do the trick.
