TayoNaPh: Turning The Selfie Generation Into A Selfless Generation

by - January 28, 2017

We Filipinos are spending so much time in social media applications like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest and the likes. Filipinos by nature are friendly and it's not surprising that they interact with different people every day through the use of the internet.

Admit it, whatever we do are immediately posted to our social media accounts. Our outrageous daily outfits or OOTD's, the delicious steak that we had for lunch, our staycation with our family, not to mention our fearless selfies, are all over the internet.

Truth is, there is nothing wrong in doing all these social media activities. We are sharing to the world what we have. But have you ever thought of posting in social media for a cause?
As a blogger, I'm lucky to be invited in events where I get to know the products or services that these companies are offering. It is indeed an honor to be part of the bloggers to graced the TayoNaPh Round Table Discussion held in TGGA, Mindanao Avenue last January 23.

TayoNaPh is a social media application that is similar to the popular social networking site, Facebook. It is an application that is proudly Pinoy.  TayoNaPh application enables one to share photos, interact with other people and even send them virtual gifts. As you send gifts, you will also be given a wish gem that you can use for your daily wish. Prizes can be won daily! You also get points for your daily login. Points can also be purchased using a debit or a credit card.

During the event, TayoNaPh officers explained how to use the application. Currently, the application can be access using Android phones and through the web.

True to its mission of being a tool for social-economic empowerment, TayoNaPh supports noble causes like providing scholarships to the less fortunate ones through its program known as "Selfie For A Cause" and recognizing both local and overseas Filipino workers through a campaign known as "Sipag Pinoy".

That being said, we can conclude that it is more than just a social networking platform. It is an application that gives us personal gains while also helping out other people.

Aside from media people and bloggers, winners of the contests also joined us.

Apart from blog events and press conference, TayoNaPh is also doing campus tours to have a talk with the students on how they can help other people through the use of their application.

Our selfies can now be more meaningful because by sharing your photo, you get to support other people. If we can spend the whole day posting in social media sites, why not support our very own application and see how our selfie can change lives!

To know more about TayoNaPh and to join their contests, you may visit their website.  For the latest happening at TayoNaPh, like their official FB Page and follow them in Instagram and Twitter.
