3 Things You Can Do At Singalong Campsite

by - November 16, 2020

I have been doing work from home for more than 4 years now and although in general, it’s more convenient because I don’t have to go through the daily commute and rush hour jam, I get exhausted because I feel that work is never-ending. From doing all the household chores, taking care of my kids, and doing 3 jobs at a time, I can’t emphasize enough how I badly needed a break from this routine.

I usually go for a relaxing massage or food trip. Last 7 November, I decided to try hiking for the first time. I have been seeing on my social media feed a campsite situated in Antipolo and since the reviews are good, I decided to give it a try. I made the booking through their Facebook account and was able to reserve instantly. I was then added to the group chat where detailed instructions and updates were given.

Singalong Campsite is situated in Barangay San Jose Antipolo. From the town proper, it’s a 15-20 minutes tricycle ride to Singalong chapel where trekking starts. It’s a 45 minute to 1-hour trek but worth it! It’s my first time to do trekking and I can say it’s very doable for first-timers. The nature campsite offers nipa hut and tent accommodations complete with beddings, a shared kitchen with BBQ grill, and bathrooms.

How to go to Singalong Nature Camp:

From Cubao ride a bus going to Robinson’s Antipolo (PHP35-40)

From Robinson’s Antipolo, ride a tricycle going to Barangay May Iba Alfamart (PHP100-120)

From Alfamart, ride another tricycle going to Singalong chapel where the staff from Singalong Camp will guide you to the campsite.

I’ve rounded up 3 things you can do at Singalong Campsite to maximize your vacation.

Visit the peak

Life in the city does not give us the luxury to be close to nature. At Singalong Camp, you get to see the beauty of nature that is away from pollution and the busy streets of Manila. At the peak is a panoramic view of Laguna De Bay. This is also where you get to enjoy the fresh air and enjoy the surroundings covered with trees and everything Green. It’s the only area in the camp where there is WiFi so if you need to check emails, this is the spot for you.

Enjoy the Kawa Bath

I have always wanted to try a kawa bath and I’m glad that Singalong Nature Camp offers it at an affordable price. For only PHP100, I was able to enjoy dipping in the hot kawa bath while enjoying the mountain view. The warm bath is proven to lower stress plus the leaves and flowers made my skin softer.

Experience back to basic life

While living in the city offers us all the comfort we can ever ask for, sometimes we get too exhausted and want something new. I was able to fully enjoy my overnight stay at Singalong Camp because there is no WiFi so I was forced to stop working (even on my mobile). It’s a back to basic life which is completely different from everything instant we get in our daily life. Here, you need to do it manually. If you want to eat, you do everything from scratch. No gas stove for cooking, no hot shower for bathing, and no electricity. Just the luxury of simple living that we don't get to do daily.

Overall experience with Singalong Nature Camp is great. I know this is not the everyday life I want but this is absolutely an excellent way to recharge and distress so when you go back to the city, you are ready for another week of challenging life.

With the owner of Singalong Nature Camp Ms. Yani and caretaker ate Chem.
