Must-Visit Places in Bohol
Bohol is a province in the central Visayas and can be accessed through a plane ride or via ferries. The name Bohol is said to be derived from one of the barrios in Tagbilaran City, Bo-ol, which was among the first places toured by the Magellan expedition.
Bohol is home to the world-famous Chocolate Hills and Tarsier which is one of the smallest primates in the world. Aside from the magnificent chocolate hills and mountains he endangered tarsiers, Bohol has so much more to offer to adventure seekers, beach bums, and nature lovers.
Recently, UNESCO has named 18 new global geoparks which included Bohol, making it the Philippines’ first global geopark. I have rounded up eight places you can visit in Bohol.
Hinagdanan Cave and Bath Resort
The municipality of Dauis on Panglao Island, Bohol, is home to Hinagdanan Cave. The cave is lit by sunlight which filters through holes in the ceiling. It is renowned for its huge stalactites and stalagmites and deep lagoon.

Bohol Tarsier Conservation Area
Located in Bilar, Bohol, the Bohol Tarsier Conservation Area is the perfect spot for those who want to see tarsiers. One of the few areas in the world where you may discover tarsiers, the tiny monkeys with big eyes, is Bohol. Keep in mind that tarsiers are delicate creatures and camera flashes are not allowed. Tarsiers are so little and since they are nocturnal, expect to see most of them asleep as you do your day tour. I just lucky to capture this little creature with eyes wide open.
